Project Purpose and Goal
QuickHost is a leading provider of web hosting and domain registration services in Kenya. The project focused on redesigning the website to enhance customer experience, optimize performance, and reinforce brand consistency. The previous site had an outdated structure, making navigation difficult for users. The goal was to create a modern, intuitive platform that simplifies the hosting process for both beginners and professionals while ensuring faster performance and better engagement.
Problems and Thought Process
One of the main challenges was ensuring that QuickHost’s services were clearly communicated and accessible to a diverse audience.
- For beginners, we needed a straightforward, user-friendly flow that made domain registration and web hosting selection easier.
- For professionals, we built a dedicated section with advanced hosting options like VPS and dedicated servers to cater to their technical needs.
Performance Optimization
The original website suffered from slow load times due to unoptimized scripts and large assets. To fix this, I:
- Optimized images and implemented lazy loading to reduce page weight.
- Removed unnecessary scripts that were slowing down performance.
- Refined caching strategies to improve page load speeds.
SEO & Google Ads Integration
To increase organic traffic and improve lead generation, I worked on:
- Implementing SEO best practices to improve search engine visibility.
- Running targeted Google Ads campaigns for hosting and domain-related services.
- Improving structured metadata and content hierarchy for better search ranking.
Web Stack and Explanation
QuickHost’s website was built using WordPress, leveraging its flexibility for content management.
- TailwindCSS was used for modern styling and responsiveness.
- Figma was utilized for the redesign and iterative improvements.
- Google Analytics was integrated to track user behavior and performance insights.
Lessons Learned & Future Work
The redesign significantly improved customer engagement, making it easier for users to explore services and complete purchases. Moving forward, the plan is to:
- Further enhance SEO strategies for sustained growth.
- Implement A/B testing for UI/UX optimizations based on user interactions.
- Introduce automated chatbot support for improved customer service.
